Making fun of memes is not a meme.
Nor is this comic. |

Meme.
It's your old son Samme, Back from Alabame. Put on the eggs and hame Oh, meme. I don't know if I'm talking about 4chan or just trying to be funny. Apparently, the latter ain't working. Last edited by prime_pm on Wed May 28, 2008 9:17 am; edited 1 time in total |

Truthfully, I have no idea what any of these terms mean these days. But at least I still have a sense of humor. Though some people these days seemed to either lost their sense of humor or don't have one. Interesting comic Robin, I didn't really get the joke, but at least Nina had interesting expressions. |

Well, jokes on the Internet are Serious BusinessTM these days, they aren't just something to laugh at. |

Uughhh.... I hate memes. They're just dumb. >.< Inside jokes I can get, but I just hate memes.

The comments in this thread are high irony. Sartre and the entire cast of Planet of th Apes would be impressed.

Intentionally ironic use of memetic sentence structure, or accidental? Anyway, tautological statements are another type of meme, if you didn't already know |

I'll admit I've never heard of a meme till today, unless the word "lol" counts. I don't know the meaning of that word either, but apparently this is how new generation talk these days. By jokes I meant the type of jokes that aren't rude to anyone and were harmless fun. Those days were over after the 90's though. I also remember the days of people writing clearly so there was little chance of misunderstanding a person, but now and days these new generation kids seem to be illiterate or don't like to use proper grammer. Not a bad comic today Robin, but I still have no idea what this comic is about. |

Aaah I'm using memes unintentionally (And I even knew that meme) - Maybe I shouldn't spend so much time on the internet. Going to read something now... |

I'm with Nina I'm afraid. I havn't a clue what a meme is.
It's a sign of getting old when you don't understand what the younger generation is talking about. |

It's not like you have a choice. Memes are self-replicating pieces of information. Given the proper stimulus, the memes you carry try to spread themselves. The host (i.e. you) has little input in the process, just as the "Chikiroll" meme exedore presented, the "win" meme on the prior page and the Milhouse memeplex I displayed. Think of memes like viruses, you can't help but spread them. At least that's the theory anyways. |

What? I thought Teriyaki Terrier was joking, but Gundam Junkie doesn't sound like they're joking at all... Richard Dawkins coined the term "meme" over thirty years ago. Huge disparate internet communities like 4chan - and the whole internet as a community actually - are exemplars of the phenomenon in action. Obligatory Wikipedia linkage... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme |
