Wasn't he Austrian-Hungarian (that territory he was born in then was Austrian-Hungarian)? Also, he wrote his works in German language (not in Czech). |

He was born in Prague, which was at that time in the territory of Bohemia (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, as you say) and is now the capital of the Czech Republic.
So it is equally accurate to call him Austro-Hungarian, Bohemian or Czech - they're all correct.
And, yes, he did speak German. |

Yamamura deserves the award, regardless. I mean, Mt. head was an Oscar nominee and everything.
Has anyone seen the trailer for A Country Doctor? The animation is BREATHTAKING. |
