Damnation.

I was hoping they'd be nice & let almost finished titles finish, but we ARE talking TP. 2 whole volumes of Gatekeepers.

I seem to recall this is the last volume of Lilling Po.
I really can't see Gakuen Heaven. The title's popular. Same for Love Mode. Hopefully it's just a temporary hold on the yaoi.

Sorcerer Hunters-expected it, but there's only 13 isn't there? Again, so close. I have the old series, butr my teen's friends borrowed it so I was re-buying it because a couple volumes have fallen apart (don't know what the girl was doing with it) Hopefully my last 3 volumes are in good shape

But I would think, unless they've actually been plotting this for awhile, these things have been translated & printed. Seems strange to pull the plug now.

Here's hoping they're all just rescheduled for now-smaller trucks to save shipping costs/gas. Maybe they're taking time to put little warning stickers on the cancelled titles. "Tuff luck bunnikins. We are discontinuing this title. Search the net for Scanilations."

It seems like I'm the only person still reading Dragon Voice. It was on it's last volume too. It seems that for having only 1 volume left they could finish most of these series. I buy a lot of series, both anime and manga. Starting with Geneon, I have had numerous series that are left incomplete. I know the companies need their customers to buy their anime/ manga to stay in business, but I find it hard to want to put money in to a series just to have the company discontinue it.

Want to know the reason for all this? The Economy, people that just read the manga instead of buying the manga and the people that bend the manga books so badly at stores, the stores have no choice but to get rid of the books.

However in this case, only the economy and people not buying are the main problems. Sure, maybe the English edition isn't "completely" unedited, but at least some companies try their best to make high quality manga.

If you want to blame someone though, don't blame Tokyopop. They are only doing what they can, so the company won't be forced to close down due to lack of money.

I support several series, as do several other people, buying manga isn't that expensive or too tiresome to do.

With the Trinity Blood novels taking a hit, I really hope they don't cut the Twelve Kingdom books. Since there's only volume released per year, maybe it will be spared?

Uh, TokyoPop just took a bunch of its capital and started a new company. I think blame for what they do rests squarely on their shoulders.

And like others have said, if they intend to drop several long series right before the last book, then they can't be trusted in the future not to do the same. If they have any sense, any hopes of keeping the customers they *do* have, they won't let them down in this manner.

I've been buying Liling Po, Love Mode, Dragon Voice and a couple others, and have a few hundred dollars invested in them. If they don't publish the last volumes of these series I will never buy another TokyoPop series again.

As long as Chibi Vampire and Moon Phase aren't canceled I'll be happy.

With Trinity Blood do you think it could be possible that they are just delaying Reborn on the Mars and restructuring their releases for it until they finish Rage against the moons?

I'm sure that some of those titles have just been postponed temporarily, due to not having enough staff to work on all of them at once. So don't freak out just yet, people.

It was confirmed over at the BLU forums that Love Mode (Edit: Vol. 11) and the next volume of Gakuen Heaven are currently postponed, not cancelled.

"“Right now, these are postponed. Please support Love Mode 10 when it comes out in August. If it sells as well as volume 9 or better, it will be very difficult for us to not do volume 11."

I'm hoping that Zig*Zag and Nosatsu Junkie would be saved, but I guess this is not the case.....which forces me to either buy the manga in its original language or read in scans. *facepalm* Sad

But at least that it's not being canceled completely, or else I would go nuts if they do that. Now I'm buying manga from Even though if they saved most of their titles, I doubt that they would ever recover from this mess.

Isn't it typical for our review of Gosick to go up and now look here to see the 2nd one getting delayed, probably forever. The series had promise!

And Nosatsu Junkie is far and away one of the funniest shojo, romance manga out! GAR!

Volume 11, not 10, is postponed. Volume 10 is out in August, and the fate of 11 is dependent on how well 10 sells (already preordered mine).

Well out of the Tokyopop titles I am collecting, only one has any real chance of being cancelled. I didn't see the Twelve Kingdoms novels on the list so I will take that as a good sign. Though I doubt this will be the last list to come out, but I hope it is.

Also thank you ANN for keeping me updated on the situation. I was reading over on another thread that some people think this shouldn't be news. So I would just like to say I think it is, and that this is the kind of information that a person like me needs.
