| I haven't run into anyone who looks at me strangely for looking in the anime aisle, or haven't noticed, anyway. I don't really make regular conversation of my love for anime, but people who are close to me know I like it. I don't feel the need to flaunt my hobbies like others do, but if somebody were to ask me about it, I'd probably reply that, yes, I like it. If it was a problem for somebody, I wouldn't care, since I tend to view myself as above most people, anyway. | |||

| I've only experienced this online.. I've never heard of someone actually coming out and saying something like that in public.. but apparently I'm wrong.
Anyway, I often encounter people like this online... and 90% of the time I can either persuade them to lose their hate for the subject due to their lack of why they think that way. But there is always that small percent of people who are just so ignorantly thick-headed that they could say the sky is green and no matter what you say they wont believe you. |

| Amusingly enough, I've never actually encountered that type of behavior while out anime shopping. People either say nothing at all, or are familiar with what I'm picking up and talk about it. I guess I've been lucky, but nobody really bothers me about anime. | |||

| I never run into this. I always run into other fans and I start a conversation with them! It's fun!
Anyway great comic! |

| Ahh, Nina looked so cute in the last panel.
I've never encountered this problem myself, but I do often get strange looks from people half my age when looking at the manga in the bookshop. (Then again, I get strange looks from people anyway. |

| I was so distracted by Nina's expression when she snapped that I missed what the guy said the first time around. Great comic, as usual, Robin!
I don't think I've ever really had an experience where someone directly confronted me, but I think it's interesting the types of people who feel the need to roam up and down the manga aisle proclaiming their hate for "anime" (most of the time it's a girl doing the proclaiming while her friend (usually male) is stopping to flip through a manga volume.) |

The fourth panel made me lolz hard. And what do you know, my uncle said the exact same thing as the old man in the first panel to me yesterday when he saw my anime magazine (except he said it in Chinese |

| If ever there was a cartoon strip written to release pent up anger, this is it. | |||

| Poor Nina just can't make any new friends can she? I've actually gone through pretty similar events at Best Buy before. Except all I had were the people complaining/making fun of me and the anime. Buying the Welcome to the NHK dvds is always an experience every time I buy one. |

| You can just never win with the non-otakus. Don't even try with them. It's trying to attack a looney bin with a banana. | |||

| Oh Dear Lord I can so relate to this one. Just replace Nina with the guy in the first panel and that's me getting grief in the same way. It's one of the main reasons I do all my buying on-line instead. |

| The only worse thing that could possibly happen would be her running into "that guy." There's nothing like shopping with one of them around to make you feel utterly ashamed for no good reason. | |||
