I saw an advert for a credit card once. Whenever someone did something good, so it explained, someone else does something not so good, to "restore the balance". Their example of a "good thing" was taking out their credit card, and the "bad thing" was usually a humorous-yet-avoidable accident.
Considering what ADV decided to do yesterday, I'd say Funimation has restored the Otaku equivalent of such a balance.

YES!!! This more than made up for the news up Kanon Vol 6 possibly being canceled.

I hope the second season of Higurashi and all of the Nanoha series make it over here with quality dubs as well.

Thank you Funimation. I will be putting your kids through college with all these releases. (:

Actually Gatsu both ADV abd Geneon both claimed they were the ones who withdrew the deal so we don't know exactly who was at fault. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-09-21/dentsu-adv-films-confirm-withdrawal-of-geneon-deal

Anyways to people who are concerned about dubs and subs. Funimation has nothing to do with whats oin the actual dvd itself. Geneon is doing all the dubbing and subbing and will basically just give funimation a master of the dvd. '

All funimation is responsible for is mass producing them and getting them on shelves. They have no say in the content of the dvd whatsoever or who does the dub.

Praise the lord! I was worried I'd never get to finish my When They Cry set, and I'd really wanted a boxset of Ergo Proxy. Funi just keeps getting more and more awesome, they really are the class of the entire US anime industry to me.

Hellsing Ultimate ? Whoooo hoooo! I've been not keeping up much with anime, been more into the manga front, but this is one title I've been anxiously awaiting.

That was adorable and funny.

And I'm now even more in love with Funi given the new news! Damn, I may have to start worshiping them.

Anime overlords indeed are welcome!

When They Cry continuing is excellent news for me since I already own the art box and Vol. 1-3. It'll probably be a bit messy looking with the Funimation logo on only the final 3 volumes but I'm sure I'll survive. Smile

I'm also pleased to see Gankutsuou, the best Geneon title, wasn't mentioned in the article. Why you ask? Because my expensive set won't lose any value.

The best news all year. I don't think I've ever been so happy to spend money as I'm going to be buying the rest of my incomplete titles.

I don't think we'll have dates announced too soon since this deal was literally just announced yesterday. I'm sure a lot of choices have to be made before manufacturing can begin.

I wanted to get ergo proxy for the longest, but a complete set of it going for 200 dollars on ebay. This is great news for anybody who liked the series. Fate/stay night is one of my favorite animes of all time so it is great to here its back. Yadadamean! Now all that's left is hope for speedy release dates.
