Well, I usually don't wish bad words on companies if they lose their shirt, but it seems to serve them right. The Japanese licensor got greedy and had unrealistic expectations. Plus I never much cared for Manga Entertainment. They were maybe pioneers back in the day when anime was first trickling over. Yet, the Donner party were pioneers too. And, hey, what kinda anime company names itself Manga? Always bugged the hell out of me.

Still, in terms of the Rebirth and End of Eva movies, even I wasn't impressed with Manga's release. A roommate who's a tech geek was nitpicking some technical flaws in manga's release. Yet they were bad enough that even I thought they were legitimate complaints and that the release was pretty crappy.

Here's hoping the new Eva gets a better release from anyone.

Yes. When I had a quick look at my copy of Death and Rebirth to check it was legit (the annoyingly-titled 'Manga Force' cover came from a magazine and looked like it could be a bootleg) I was relieved to find that the disk itself was still suffered from the the infamous Evangelion Jitter. I haven't had a look at my EoE one yet.
