| Honest to God... who the hell WATCHES these things? I am really stumped on this? Why are there so many of them? Are they really that popular? How can they be? | |||

| So is this just an OVA or a series? It looks...mildly interesting, if a bit generic. Lion McAwesome kinda got my interest if nothing else :U
I also like how Trading Figure Game is in the title. I know these shows are blatant advertising for toys, but jeez! |

If you mean toy-based anime.. quite a lot of people. Don't let the premise fool you, they can get pretty awesome all things considered. Look at Beyblade. The fact you have kids killing each other and destroying cities and potentially the world with spinning tops (granted, they have God-like entities sealed in them like Pokemon, but still) is pretty fun. These kinds of shows can also appeal to the kid in you, making you wish you had these kinds of shows with epic plotlines and characters growing up, rather than.. I dunno, G.I Joe or whatever we got. Another awesome one is Danball Senki, which is more or less a minifig anime like Warhammer or HeroClix. Danball Senki and Beyblade are two of my favorite anime right now. They're extremely popular in Japan. The US has.. what? Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh? Beyblade and Bakugan? Well, there's dozens more in Japan that never get brought over, which is a shame. There's literally tons of shows like this. Card game shows alone I can think of over 13 in the past few years, but I suppose Yu-Gi-Oh dominates the market in the US that no other companies wants to bring any of them over, where as dozens of CCGs can thrive in Japan. This looks kind of interesting so I'll check it out. |

| This is so stupid that they could not even choose for this advertisement a less idiotic action sequence than they did a warrior with long-ranged weapon does not use it, and instead just runs into the close combat melee specialist. |

| The announcer keeps saying "Battle Break 2". What happened to the first one? Watching the battle sequence made me think: screw figures, I want disks that create animated 3D holograms that interact with each other! I admit I woulda been into this kinda stuff when I was a kid. I remember M.U.S.C.L.E.'s pink rubber figures being popular for a minute back in the day. |
