You know what really sucks. Is your piss poor attitude that somehow you are the grand arbiter set to decide who is, and who isn't a real fan of DB/Z. News flash: Your opinion matters squat to whether someone ought to enjoy watching a show. As it should be.

Your groundless comments without any respect and gratefulness to the DB franchise and its creators, DISGUST ME! makes me ULTRA MAD!!!

How in a world someone can call himself a "DB fan" or even DB sympathizer yet to support THIS AWFUL PIECE OF PATHETIC, UGLY, CORRUPTED, EXPLOITIVE MOCKERY AND BLASPHEMY!!!

comments like this

Just goes to show how much of a fan you are.

Who gives a crap if it doesn't turn out that great. Live-Action interpretations of Anime are insanely hard to do, so of course its not necessarily gonna be too good.

Makes me sick...Well let me tell you, FAN is someone who TRULY LOVES something and is not a POSER who accepts everything which have a Dragon Ball title on it!!! Thats commercialized spoiled teenager! ok!? not a FAN!.....

Calm down. Breathe. Okay, how about you produce your own Dragonball movie and we'll see which one is better. Good luck finding a cast that looks like the characters. I'm a fan of Dragonball and I want to see this movie because it's an adaptation of Dragonball. At least now anime will be heard of and maybe more Hollywood live-action adaptations would be made. Afterall, what anime fan wouldn't want to see their favourite anime as a live-action? By the way, true fans support their favourite anime through thick and thin. Since we live in a captialist society, money is what supports the industry. If anime companies makes more money because this movie than there will be more and better anime in the future. People who boycott anime movies because Hollywood made them are the posers since bashing mainstreem media is a trend among anime fans.

don't care if Goku is skinny, or if he's missing his cactus hair (come on, that would be way too cheesy and over the top.)

Agreed, it would be cheesy if they kept his hair. I mean, Chatwin's hair in the movie looks silly to begin with.

You're ammusing, by the way.

Maybe you are Goku! but you also don't have KI and don't have other superpowers and you also don't look nor behave a bit like him...nor you are him at all....so...?
I don't consider having life as being just another human, infact THATS what I call not having your own life... but living on classic human template...
If thats a little importance to you TO ME ITS NOT! because there are still people who are not only interested in money and their material/entertainment status, but they also care for some moral values...regardless of how ridiculously "unimportant" they sound to others...

As you already know I say they are not DB fans to me! ok thats MY OPINION? I didn't said I am any "grand arbiter" or whatever.

I just can't consider you, nor will EVER consider you as anything close to what really presents someone who truly love DB/Z...
Its someone who really like it in almost every way and is not only seeing it like "just another one out of million sources of entertainment"...

And I don't even wanna read the rest of the posts because I'd probably eat my keyboard AGAIN...

This is the best damned thread in the world.

Dear VEGETA_DTX,

As much as I love your gusto and endless enthusiasm for a cartoon, you must realize that you are not the only person in the world. If Fox were to tailor to your specifications, not only would 100 people watch the movie, but it would look like the silliest thing in the world. There would be a butch, HGH-pumped dude with awful hair running around, and who can relate to that???? Bodybuilders?

Perhaps. But in the grand scheme of things, your $9.50 matinee ticket isn't enough to make things exactly the way you want. That's why the guys at Fox get paid lots of money to make movies, and you're a kid typing in all caps on the internet.

Keep up the good spirit, though! Go for the gold!

Love,
World

[AM]I increasingly fear that nothing good can come of almost any adaptation, and obviously that's sweeping. There are a couple of adaptations that are perhaps as good or better than the original work. But the vast majority of them are pointless.

VEGETA_DTX,

Don't immediately imply that true Dragonball fans will not watch the film. Because, well, I hate to burst your little assumption, but I'm a major fan of the series and I'm rather looking forward to the film. Yes, I do work in the industry (without BIAS!) and have friends who worked on the show back in '99-00; so I've been around DBZ for quite sometime. However, I think it's fans like you who really need to look at the larger picture. I'm not going to go into the theater and expect all my nostalgic memories from the series to explode on the silver screen, because quite frankly, that is what my season sets are for! This new movie is in a league of its own, and will hopefully deliver some memorable memories... hopefully!!

Don't make me say "I told you so" Cool

Oh, great, Vegeta-DTX went missing from the Daizenshuu EX forums (frankly, I'm surprised he wasn't banned), only to show up here with the same bullshit ranting. Enough already. Your childish, all caps raving is not going to change anyone's opinion. You have no right to insult longtime fans of Dragonball by saying that they are no longer fans just because they are not blindly nerd-raging against the movie. I have been a fan of the series for ten years, and it's my favorite series, so of course I'm looking forward to seeing it adapted for the big screen. I don't expect it to be perfect, it may not even be good, but I won't be able to determine that until I see it for myself, which I plan to do. Even if it turns out bad, it's not going to ruin my life. It's not like the manga and anime will disappear because of this movie; I can still enjoy the series in its original form regardless of the quality of this movie. You are greatly overestimating the impact that this movie is going to have on humanity.

DB movie, one of the most famous movie before its release. There will changes such as little history disformation, some costumes and characters. But who cares about Goku's pants color??? Db is more than only fighters and suits!

After 14 years, technologie gives us the possibility for a dream to come true; real action. The crew for effects is one of the best I ever saw. Go see for these and look at their work before making an idea of what it may looki like:Amalgamated Dynamics Inc,Ollin Studios, Zoic Studios, and Imagine Engine... Without naming big heads such as Stephan Chow and James Wong. Cannot get better for Special and visual effects.

However, some persons talk without knowing and gets some fan angry after this production; they have 15sec of real trailer, ten photos and they give they're opinion on that...

As a big fan, I must ask you all to wait and see, before talking . Chatwin seems Goku-like to me and blue pants, not exact same hair and bigger belt won't crash the movie; believe me, in action scenes, I would be supprised to see someone being like: "oh my god! he doesn't have the same belt!" Furthermore, I'd like you not to see it as a fan, cause a fan is affected by story changes; see it as the child we were and are seeing Dragon ball and , I hope, will be seeing brand new scenes of the best adventure of all time!

Com'on join the neutral side and enjoy the show you may regret if you don't! Have a good movie.
-A very proud fan

That's the spirit; real fans don't get angry, they see an oportunity to get a new version of the story. Being childish is a part of a manga fan's life, isn't it?

I hope more person will check at the conception crew:Ollin Studios, Zoic Studios, Imagine Engine and Amalgamated Dynamics on effects.
-Almalgamated took part of the brilliant serie of spider(all 3 movies)
http://www.studioadi.com/ (for more details)

-Ollin Studios made a lot of publicity stuffs for companies such as Coca-cola, at&t, ... and some more

-Zoic studios did well too, but there's too much go there to find out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoic_Studios#Pre-2003

-Imagine Engine are from the games; they made a lots of video games stuff go and see by yourself, game list is amzing.

What about dark Knight? Alan Moore is a pretentious old grump, he doesn't like anything.

Not it matters, this movie will be bad because it has a bad director and bad production values.

What, ignorant people? Yeah, that's nothing new.

Hon'ya-chan wrote:

Because it's the same bloody thing? Your adapting a source material into another medium. Seriously, if Video game makers can hold true to the spirit of the manga, then why not with movies? I understand not everything can be crammed into the movie, but taking enough artistic liberties to completely make a completely different product is wrong.

....you're saying all this and you haven't even watched the movie yet. That's pretty damn funny. Video games are so much different than live action adaptations, that's pretty obvious.

Also, if that was the case, you should protest every live action adaptation of any live action anime series, tv or movie that was made in Japan. There are differences that do change between anime, manga, and live action. I just think you're being a little too dramatic with this. >_>;

Look at Wanted. Fox changes races and color (allegedly because one of the writers has a hard-on for Angelina and can't live for an hour without jerking off to her image), Wesley turns from a demented Eminem clone to someone off some Teenie show with emo angst, and the movie rights were optioned when the comic series was into it's first issue!! The ending in the movie pales in comparison to the comics spoiler[where Westley insults the reader and proceeds to "punch" the reader in the face.]

I want a good popcorn flick, but when you have original source material floating about, you either have to do a good job in replicating it, or don't try at all.

Sorry, I won't see Wanted, I was never really interested in it in the first place, though many people did like it. It's okay if you didn't like it at all, but even if you told me how horrible it was, and I went to see it and liked it (with my opinion being different from yours), would you think I was wrong for feeling the way I do?

xD I gave it a chance at least, but meh...I watch what I feel like, and don't complain about something I haven't even watched yet.

But thanks for the synopisis, that was rather disturbing... >_>;

On a side note, I'd like to see Vegeta_DTX eat his keyboard. It would definitely save us (well, most of us) a lot of grief.

For a movie which is only out in a few months, it appears that FOX didn't show any new footage at SDCC. Maybe they'll play a trailer in front of X-Files...?

Perhaps, but...I don't know if a preview of it for the X-Files movie is a good thing...I'm not planning on seeing it.

Ahhh, this is pretty... (for lack of better word) impressive! I can't wait for the release date so I can watch it for the sake of the lulz, and it must be interesting to take your little brothers to watch this movie, hopefully their manly meter will be increased over than 9000 points.

Anyway, Goku's hair looks like a burnt out cookie.
