| I picked up the Bandai version already, I might have to pick up the Top Cow version. Story-wise, this felt too short and rather dissapointing. I was actually hoping they would keep it in line with the anime, perhaps jumping forward 10 years or so to a teenage Rihoko inheriting the Witchblade, but alas, that wasn't the direction they chose to go. Still, the artwork was excellent, and a full-color version might definitely be worth checking out! |

This gets labeled under all the other "could have been great" manga/comics that I've read these past few years. I wonder if it didn't live up to its potential because of "rushing" the story out instead of actually putting a little more substance into it.
With all its flaws it has to be one of my most beautifully drawn mangas I've owned and super sexy to boot. |

Nationalist/bigoted fantasy are pretty par for the course in (segments of) Japanese anime/manga, but I'm really surprised someone thought this would be a good idea for a plot-line in a work aimed at readers in the US. It's odd to juxtapose this with the past news of the US Navy releasing a 'PR manga' based on the delicate sensibilities of the Japanese public, but on the other hand we get revisionist revenge fantasies from the Japanese. |

I agree but giving all that. I still thought that the story was okay at best. but I love the artwork. |
