I just finished this up on Netflix (though I wish they would hurry up with Flag volume 4).

Despite the artistic breakdowns in #13 and #23, the word I would use to describe this series overall impression was competent.

A good story, told well, I bought into the characters and feelings displayed. I thought the ending with the observer was moving for what it was. I could see myself queing up many more further discs to find out more about the world and the story it had to tell.

I will be owning this in some sort of box release, and then subsequently loaning it out to friends as an example of good anime.
