Didn't they already do every chapter of Kyo no Gononi in the OVA? It's only one volume long! How would they fill even a half-length series?

Coharu Sakuraba's comedy style doesn't translate very well to animation, though. It's based mostly on conversation between characters. This is highly unusual, and also why I love his manga so much. The animated adaptation of Minamike racketed the minimal slapstick way up, and become somewhat typical as a result. I didn't like it very much.

The situation was similar with Ichigo Mashimaro, though, and I managed to appreciate the anime of that once I got used to the differences from the manga.

The sucess of the series is going to depend on whether the staff can really adapt the series rather than just animate it.

If CW can make Gossip Girl NSFW series work out, the world can make Class 5-2 work out, except in elementary instead of high school. Laughing

Minami-ke worked out really well..at least according to dvd sales.

the OVA for Today In Class 5-2 was hilarious IMO and I hope their expansion of it will be just as good or better. I also hope the same VA's are in it and sing another awesome opening song.

Really, do we need to see a "light ecchi" set in an elementary school? This has got to be a major example of when anime goes wrong. This is lollicon/shotcon bait all over the place.

Well, that's partly true...there's certainly plenty of loli pantyshots to go around...but it's really pretty innocent. There isn't any actual sexuality in any of the situations. It's nothing compared to something lurid like Ultimate Girls or that one episode of Dokkoida.
