That's actually been one of the big questions hanging over this movie.
20th Century Fox dumped it. It was put in turnaround. Now it's with Relativity.
The plan is apparently to keep the budget down by filming in a greenscreen studio a la Sin City and 300 (and Dragon Ball?) ... we'll see.
I'm sure last year's box office success of that godawful Transformers movie is encouraging them to go live-action with their giant robots, but given the potential audience for a Voltron movie, I think they'd be better off going CG like TMNT (last year's modestly profitable Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie).
Voltron isn't what mass audiences are clamouring for, any more than Speed Racer was .... |
