Whole thing seems like one giant, poorly-conceived joke to me. I felt the same way about Soultaker and Cosmopolitan Prayers.
The very tonal shift the review feels make the series more bearable is just another cliche, to boot. I've found that most anime comedies turn dramatic at the end, no matter how bad of an idea it may be. This is what makes pure comedies like Galaxy Angel and Ninja Nonsense(which had a pretty good parody of this phenomenon) so valuable.

| wow they really took this whole thing too far. As much as I love genshiken this ventures into cash cow territory. As for the commentary it sounds....interesting it almost makes you wonder if tomokazu sugita has the same preferences as kyon..almost |

| I'm still holding out for a standalone Genshiken OVA release. Having already read the manga, I've got no problem waiting... |

I think I heard somewhere that they have to be released this way by order of the Japanese agreement. Just like the Kujibiki OVAs were bundled with Genshiken.
If that is true, then a standalone collection might never come. |
