Now we just need someone to get the Tachiguishi flicks, and I'm a happy camper. Cool

Edit: I was thinking WB was going to distribute it themselves, but then I realized they probably make more money selling the rights to other companies.

If other recent theatrical anime releases from Sony are anything to go by, we may end up getting it months ahead of North America.

That's presuming Sony license it for the UK of course (as I strongly suspect they will but even if they don't, Optimum or Manga UK will probably pick it up).

I admire your optimism Moomintroll. I'm hyped about this film enough to consider an R1 import if we end up having to wait however.

I, too, am happy about this. Not only have I been wanting to see this film, but it's always nice to see timely international licensing of anime features.

Well at least this runs the possibility of a Blu-ray release. I just hope they don't make a crappy version, then decide to double or triple dip later down the line with extra, extra editions.

You make buying R1 DVDs sound like a big deal...

It's not, and it's relatively cheap too (well, not quite as cheap as it was, but still not too bad). Most of the DVDs I've bought over the past year or so have been R1.

You're right that it's not a big deal but PAL looks better than NTSC (especially through PAL equipment) and when you're buying eye candy, that's worth considering.

Sony's good for movies, so I'm more than satisfied with this. Looking forward to its release, and hope that there's the slightest chance that they'll push this.

bugmenot: Steamboy, Metropolis, Memories, the last Cyborg 009 and Astro Boy, Tekkon Kinkreet, and Blood+. Oh, and Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika. Dunno if you wanna count them as "anime", but they also have FF: Advent Children and FF: The Spirits Within.
