| Great news. I just wish the first season would get released here on DVD so I can see the episode that wasn't shown on TV. |

I thought Kadokawa USA had acquired the North American license?:

It follows the manga just as well as season did, if not better...only thing wrong with it was teh animation but that wasnt bad enough to make it suck |

Personally I find it very annoying when two seasons of a show look so little alike as well. |

Actually I was thinking of GSGII when I made that comment I know that the story in GSGII followed the manga more accurately, but like Richard J I'd prefer it if it didn't look too different. |

| Yeah, our anime club just finished showing this show last week, so this news is quite nice for me. (legally, of course.) |

The only changes to worry about is much more fluid animation |
Yeah, I'm optimistic that we'll get more of an FMP-esque change than GSGII. |

This is fantastic! S&W was this year's best drama series, and one of this year's finest surprises. A second season was imminent, but I didn't think it would be this quickly.
Now I just have to wait for a second season announcement for "Kamen no Maid Guy," and I'll be set . (And maybe have Louis XIV's "Misguided Sheep" be S&WII's theme song .) |

They've been shopping it around. Kadokawa Pictures USA holds the license, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll ever find a distributor. |

| My only concern is the change in character design. I liked the first season design much better than the novel design (Horo looks too much like a child). |

| Wow, I was just talking to BrothersElric and Aromatic Grass the other day via IM about how "we need a Spice and Wolf 2." What do you know, they announce a new season. This is great. With the new animation studio, the production values are bound to be better this time around. |

I just watched this for the second time a few weeks ago, great news.
Not that a seemingly better animation studio is a bad thing(seemingly because I don't know their work first hand), but included with a different character designer...well I just hope nothing is drastically changed and as someone else said, it takes a cue from KyoAni's FMP seasons.
Does an announcement like this come with it a general date? Would the show most likely start soon?(Assuming spring at the earliest since this year would be pretty much rounded out already) |

Now that's an interesting combination of shows. |
