I approve of the featured shelf..I love cats (and my cat is always jumping on my shelf too). Very Happy

As for Ghost Hunt while I can't say it is my favorite thing ever I found it very enjoyable (with the exception of the first arc.) and I am happy to have it in my collection. I am not sure if I would say it was scary per say but it has some good creepy and tense moments here and there. I also like all the characters, they are a fun group (the Monk is probably my favorite) and it's nice to see how they grow closer as the story goes on.

And Naru is not Emo (overly emotional) in the least. In fact I find Naru to be a very amusing character or maybe I find his lack of emotion to anything pretty amusing.

Strange. I actually stumbled upon that page yesterday, while I was reading the Wikipedia page for Calle 13. I was actually kind of disturbed.... DX

And I feel bad for not watching the first 3 episode of Ghost Hunt yet. Need to find the time. Anime smile + sweatdrop

I enjoyed that cat, my DVD shelf has doors in front of it (I overtook my sister's old room when she got her own apartment and used her shelving for my DVDs and it just happened to have a door on it that I'm too lazy to remove.), but one of my cats likes my manga shelves. And they both like my viewing sphere chair.
Of course, now that I'm in a dorm, I just have a DVD binder. And no cat.

Still, I was surprised to see Joe vs Joe 2 not in the perishable category. Granted, its not going to make me buy the series, its only on the rental list after all

Read through Wikipedia about "Ghost Hunt..."

No "guys getting socked by women for comedic purposes..."

Adding this to tomorrow's "Best Buy Credit Purchase" along with "Claymore" and "SHAFT's Negima Special..."

Coleen Clinkenbeard's "He's A Bachelor!"

You know... It always seems to be the shoujo. Rolling Eyes

I wanted to get Ghost Hunt last Friday, but Best Buy/FYE hadn't got it in yet (so I instead got YYH Season 2, Case Closed Season 1, and Shakugan no Shana). I'm checking again this Friday, me and my anime buddies (well, 2 of them, the other 3 will be a con) are all going to watch it for the first time on Halloween night (which is thankfully a Friday)! Should be a fun, scary time! Very Happy Also, little kids are involved? Sweet, they can be so creepy. I was freakin' out during certain scenes of The Orphanage.

Agreed. Bamboo got me to go exploring on Wikipedia to find out how bad things could be. The page for ejaculation includes an embedded video. o_O

I'm too chicken to go looking around, but I did indeed have to find out what 'gokkun' meant.

Ew. Shocked

I guess this is further proof that shows/movies based on video games, no matter how good the game, just aren't very good. The Dead Space game currently has an 88 on Metacritic, and that's pretty impressive.

I've been having trouble finding Ghost Hunt Part 1 at Best Buy as well. If it's not there when I drop by tomorrow after work, I'll cave and order it from Amazon. It sounds like a solid, traditional supernatural series - although not exactly spectacular - that would be a good watch this time of year.

I am surprised they're not getting both parts out before Halloween though since they came so close. It would have been a good marketing move on their part.

The fact that the Evangelion box is unopened disturbs me greatly. Sad

Is not stupid to buy bootleg DVDs because I have Sonic X on DVD in bootleg eps 1-52 uncut version (in Japanese audio with English subs) and you'll never buy them on region 1 DVD at all. It only have 4kids version (English dub in cut version though) and I hate it the dub version of SX... I loved the japanese version better in my opinion. So, is alright to buy bootleg DVD if only: the anime is super rare that they haven't release them in your country or the anime haven't release in uncut version like: Sonic X & Tokyo Mew Mew.

In my opinion is not stupid.

"I've been having trouble finding Ghost Hunt Part 1 at Best Buy as well." Kelly

if you are going to a physical store, always make 'em check in the back... A couple of the BestB's I frequent always have jammed anime shelves, and if there isn't room, they will leave stuff in the back. Everytime an artbox with a DVD or the special edition minifig with DVD coems out they take up an inordinate amout of room. If the website says your store has it, make 'em work for it. Heh, I found Gurren Lagann in the kid section, on a hunch. I'm sure Kamina would have been upset, though. Wink Also? From long doing this for science fiction, don't be afraid to help them merchandise the area by stealth if they are doing a terrible job of it. Heck I'm just happy they now don't look at me blankly when I ask a question about an Anime title. Secondly, make sure to keep them honest on the price. Occasionally some stores screw it up... BB is still charging $54 for Bleach S2, while Amazon and Wally world are $39.99, but they will match.

Not that this is a plug for them... I buy lotsa different places locally, but as always caveat emptor

I bought Ghost Hunt blind, without knowing anything about it, and I enjoyed it. I am a fan of JC staff, and I like the mix of comedy and supernatural horror. The last story arc ( of the first set ) spoiler[was, imo, the saddest so far. Looking forward to the last half.] I was glad that they completed the last arc on the first set, instead of making me wait to see how it is resolved, if you have ever bought sets, you know what I mean....I am looking at you, Naruto and Bleach !!

Edited to add a spoiler, just in case !

Meow.

No kitty, you can't have my Gundam.

Meow.

No kitty, that's a bad kitty. It's my Gundam!

Hssst!

Mom, kitty's being a *****!

Haha, seriously couldn't resist typing that up. And I see you have only three volumes of Twelve Kingdoms. Hope you get to see the rest of it, great series.

As for the Halloween selection, I can't say I'd watch any of those. Maybe I should try to open my genre book a bit more, but I can't stand guts, gore or any of that sick crap. Which reminds that Saw V is coming out, which means my mother's friend's husband is going to be raking in big bucks at the box office again (he's one of Saw's producers).

Those poor Gundam don't stand a chance.

I was surprised to see Ghost Hunt as shelf worthy and XXXholic as only a rental. It's not that I disagree, as I have not seen either of them, but XXXholic seems to have a pretty loyal following and often seems to be held in fairly high regard. I mean, it's no Haruhi or anything, but when it's mentioned it is almost always positive that I've seen. Ghost Hunt, on the other hand, pretty much seems to never get mentioned; and nothing mentioned about it has been particularly glowing, though it hasn't been bad either.
