| Nice review, though it seems that Time Goes On wasn't mentioned... |

How can you say you'll only listen to Kuchizuke (kiss) once?! outrageous, i love that song. it's right up there with ready steady go. to each his own, i know, i know.
i agree with most of the stuff. you have to really listen to the cd a couple times before you start to remember the songs individually. i think i confused eien (time goes on, i think) with kuchizuke. they sound similar, but kuchizuke has a much better chorus.
coming closer's a winner. i like hitomi no juunin (visions in your eyes, or something like that), and hyde hits the high notes, which fanatic fans were bitching about.
i'm going on my own review...i'll stop. glad you liked it, and i hope it does well here |

The guitar intro is awesome, but there isn't much to the rest of the song. In particular I dislike the synth in the background, and those high notes in the chorus are too random.

Yeah, Hyde's "whooping" sound is a little odd. I didn't even think to mention it, though, becuase it's a natural fit with the harp and sliding guitar notes. |

| I haven't really heard much of this band outside of "Spirit Dreams Inside" and some other songs and am not really sure if I like them. That said, is this a good album to get a feel for the group? Just curious. |

Having been a L'Arc fan for many years I would say no. The difference between their old sound (with the previous drummer, Sakura) and the new sound (with the current drummer, yukihiro) confuses people and it's not uncommon for newer fans to dislike the older songs.
A good sampler of their songs (past and present) is their "Clicked Singles Best 13" album. It was briefly released in the US, back in 2001/2 I think. It's what the title indicates: fan-voted favorite singles plus a new track (new at the time of release), Anemone.
If that album didn't exist, I would recommend their 1999 double-album release Ark and (especially) Ray as an example of their newer/current sound, or Tierra if you're interested in their older sound.
Just for reference's sake, here's their entire list of albums in chronological order, minus any best-of/rereleased-song albums:
(With Sakura)
Dune
Tierra
Heavenly
True
(With Yukihiro)
Heart
Ark/Ray
Ectomorphed Works (yukihiro's remix album)
REAL
SMILE |

However, 'Clicked' is almost entirely from the second phase of L'Arc. I'd recommend getting the 'Best of' CD's (minus the c/w one). You can still get the overseas versions at YesAsia which come with VCD's of their very old PV's. |

Oh, thanks-- totally forgot about that one.
Erm, as an afterthought, L'Arc's newest single (jiyuu he no shoutai) is a song that's really worth checking out, too. |
