It's when they take still from a show and place them in a comic format complete with word balloons.

So they won't be using stills from the anime, right? Will it be live-action stills?

Edit: Never mind, according to their site, it will be stills from the anime.

I read it wrong the first time.

Some people prefer to read it rather than watch the anime. SAme reason why some people like to read the newspaper than watch the evening news. Also it makes a great collectable if you're really into the anime. It might not be attractive to you, but it will to countless other people. You have to understand that everyone is different.

o.O I was under the impression this stuff wasn't selling very well for tokyopop. Guess I was wrong if Darkhorse is trying it out.

>.< Wish they would buy more manga licenses instead.

ACK! Why is Dark Horse doing this? I know Trigun is popular, but these Cine-manga things are just.. yeah.. eh. Either read the manga or watch the anime (or get both like I did). What a waste of time and paper! Why is Dark Horse wasting paper on this when they could be putting out other new titles like.. ahem.. Blame!.

The only advantage to this sort of thing that I can see is if people want the Trigun story, but don't want to buy the DVDs.

Also assuming that they are like me and don't get CN.

When was the last time Trigun was on Adult Swim anyway? It's been a while.

And the DVDs are getting pretty cheap. Geneon is releasing all of the Trigun volumes on their 'Signature Series' line, making them $20. Any good anime shopper would probably be able to buy it for cheaper than that anyway, making it only a few dollars more than the Cine-manga concept.
