As a fellow fan of both Please Teacher and Please Twins I have to say this is pretty cool.

Yeah, it's great what they did.

One of those moments where anime fans do something of a good service for the whole Razz Or so that I've heard of.

I've been there and it's very beautiful, peaceful and quiet there. Walked around the whole lake and took many pictures.

You know, there's a book lying in Uminokuchi station for fans to write something in. There were a few entry every day, when I was there and it was the thirteenth book.

it's a crazy 5 hour trip by train from Osaka though, and 5 hours back ;p
I would have loved some of those tickets though ;p

Unfortunatly, I haven't updated my blogpost with pictures back then, and only got this one online:

As far as I know, there are no tours...

But I've visited real-life scenery from Onegai Twins/Teacher, Haruhi and Lucky Star. And I'm in the process of writing an english guide for them, as there only exist japanese guides. But it's taking time to make it...

Speaking of Please!, there are two sets of seishu featuring Mizuho and Ichigo illustrated by Taraku Uon respectively. Personally I think those black-and-white pictures are more attractive than the girl illustrated by Aoi Nishimata (who is beautiful but with little or no story).

Someone should ask Pop Japan Travel to make tours to include all these real life locations used in different anime... that would be pretty darn cool!

And what the fans did - its too bad they didn't decide to make this an international effort and put up a universal donation site - I would have donated...

As much as I snicker at how dedicated Japanese otaku are, preserving beautiful locales is always a good thing, no matter the motivation.

LOL Prechi xD

Seriously though, this is a really great story. I believe the location played a big role in setting the nostalgic, romantic mood of Please Teacher. I'm sure many fans think of it fondly even if they haven't had the opportunity to travel there like Larske has, and its great to see fans give back to the place that inspired it all. Smile

aww, what a great thing for them to do. I am glad that they were all able to gather together for such a good cause.

If there exists only one copy of an important piece of merchandise, Otaku are obviously going to want to keep it in mint condition.

There's been a trend in recent anime to include small towns and their unique customs, scenery, dialect, etc. I think it's great that a lot of these rural areas are getting on the map, in a small way at least.
