| Supposedly they have so much story now on the novels, you probably couldn't even do it in 24(or 26) episodes. They would have to rush through it. Although now there would be an open ending so I want Kyoto to wait till the final novel comes out. |

InuYasha
Munto was in the school hallway of one of the eps as I recall.
Has to pre-date any Lucky Star cameo.
Think it was the demons in the food ep? Something like that.
I've had this one forever-think I pre-ordered both volumes? Can't recall. It was pretty, but also pretty standard alternate world-type story. It was one CPM pushed heavily so it was known back in the day, but series always seem to attract more buzz than movies so it did fade fast once CPM hit their speedbump. |

You get to keep a much bigger slice of the pie, from the merchandising and so forth, with original works; there's no gensakusha or so forth that you have to share it with. So, you might make more money even if the work's less popular in absolute terms.

Ah, yes, sounds like a decent explanation; I didn't think of that at all. Having said that, I can't imagine that KyoAni is particularly lacking projects to animate. Clannad is in progress, and not counting Munto I know they've made one or two other announcements that I can't recall. Not to mention there's always the possibility of a firm Haruhi announcement, and I've even read a rumor about them animating Alive in the near future. |

I'm almost up in arms here.
While not to diss Munto or its fans, KyoAni, don't you already have too many titles to work on?
Where's FMP?
Where's Haruhi?
Where's Little Busters?
The last time I remember, KyoAni wasn't a multi-series / season studio. At this rate we can expect new FMP sometime in the regime of 2012. Gatou Shouji might as well go back to...*gasp* Gonzo. OK I take that back, I don't want Gonzo touching the franchise. (lest it be infected with Gonzo disease).
I have the Revoltech ARX-8 Laevatein sitting on on my display shelf and I'm thinking, "When will I ever see in fully-animated-3D-Lambda-Driver-effects glory?" |

From my recollection the FMP series has not reached a finale even on the novel front. KyoAni may be waiting for the ending of the original work so they can avoid a fabricated ending which would probably anger the fans more than making them wait a little longer. If they were to release more of it now it would probably be more along the lines of Fumoffu - a filler season. I'm perfectly fine with waiting until they have something solid to ground a new anime season on.
Haruhi is in the works as we speak. It's slated for next season (correct me if I am awry people). I am only hoping that they can pull another interesting and unique element out like they did with the jumbled order of the first series. Also, the longer they spend on the project the better the animation, or so I'd like to think.
And Little Busters? I don't think that's high on the priority list to begin with. It would be nice to see an anime based off that game, though. |

| What about the second season of Haruhi? In last July's Newtype, they said there'd be new details of Haruhi season 2 in December's Newtype, including sketches of the so-called new character designs. I`ve been patiently waiting for that for 5 months now, and if they got nothing... i`m gunna flip. |
