Man... that ending... someone call Another up and tell them they forgot something.

I'm rather enjoying the background music (that is, the music that isn't the songs). For the songs, though... the idea of singing in battle isn't atrocious, but the execution is. They just have the song dubbed over the action sequence and then slap on some lip flaps, rather than the singing fluctuating to represent the breaths and grunts and exertions of the singer in the middle of a fight. I realize that's difficult, but if you're going to make that the center point of your anime, maybe a bit of effort is called for.

So second episode. All I can say is...wow on the fact that it went from serious to comedical in one episode o.O

Its slowly developing its story though. "Slowly"

The ED is rather unsettling, it looks like it will be going a rather freaky path. I do find it a bit odd the celibrated so much, didn't a number of people die, it is only luck that the other two didn't. Too bad she did not stay demonic.

So are we in agreement that the room mate has a yuri crush, or something.

We did not really use this thread last time did we. Kinda sad as I found the first season enjoyable, and there were some twists, and good music. I keep a few of the songs on my playlist. Anyway season 2 has started.

Senki Zesshō Symphogear G (TV)

Season 2, Episode 1

So while first season had the whole dark magical girl like plot that they befriend, this season looks to be the group (including previous enemy) will be against an evil group of girls. Kind of makes me think of Nanoha, doesn't help that Hibiki's attack reminded me of Subaru's.

It was a good first episode with spoiler[teamwork between Chris who is a lot calmer now, and Hibiki who is more able]. Also a well done spoiler[concert on Tsubasa's end], the spoiler[crying middle eastern men] may have been a bit over the top though.

Guess the story continues where it ended last time.
They got some new suits and moves.
They're gonna need more than that to keep the fans satisfied.
I have seen the first season of this anime.
Don't think I'm gonna watch this one.

Season 1 was lots of fun and it looks like season 2's going to be even better.

so after episode 2, I think it's safe to say that this season is already kicking season 1's ass. those were some fantastic fight scenes.

Season 2, Episode 2

Only the second episode and we already get a great 3 on 3 fight, Hibiki playing Nanoha's part, her opponent did everything short of calling her a devil, although knowing Hibiki, that could very likely happen.

And we also got an awesome spoiler[ultimate attack, the S2CA Triburst]. Unfortunately it apparently went the way the spoiler[villain wanted, but the awesomeness was worth furthering the villain's plans. I thought that the first part was cool, but then it turned out to just be charging, and the secondary charge had her flicking into her dark form.]. I now have high expectations.

Nothing wrong with Hibiki's actions afterwards, we all know that friendship will save the day.

Season 1 felt very amateurish in practically everything including screenwriting. It's like the makers tried to shove in a bunch of elements that are a hit with the otaku especially with the whole idol singing mecha musume action girl schtick. So far with the 2 episodes presented in Season 2, things are a lot more polished with better action scenes, better animation, arguably better script, and so on.

If this keeps up, I think it safe to say Symphogear will become a worthy successor of the Nanoha franchise. Now if only someone legally simulcasted this. Confused

Well, there's a reason for that...

What made season 1 so endearing is that despite its low budget and various other problems, it still delivered a fun, entertaining show with plenty of heart.

According to Wikipedia, Symphogear is under Funimation's domain.
A quick search through their website confirms that.
