| Seems rather old fashioned and unoriginal to me but I didn't expect anything interesting from AIC. |

I'm usually a big fan of Aramaki's mechanical designs (though everything seems a bit primary-coloured here*), but his directorial efforts always seem lacklustre at best. MADOX, while having wonderful mechanical designs and some very nice animation, had a terrible story and pacing. The two Appleseed films were pretty awful in that respect too (what happened to the intricate political intrigue? Why replace the carefully planned operations with over-the-top guns-akimbo firefights?).
*Either all the fighting takes place in some sort of VR dome, or this must be purely preliminary CG work. |

| I have to admit that I really liked Madox-01. Many anime fans aren't too big on the classic anime films but it was one of the very first anime films that I saw, back when AnimEigo was just starting out. |

So that's where Z went after he left the third Tenchi OVA. |
