Damn impulsive buying...I had to get the first DVD of Azumanga Daioh despite the fact that the collectors box version was out of stock. Anyone know where I can find these sorts of boxes?

They don't appear that often as box only (only the occasional series may have an excess for those who bought the set preivously like was done with Eva a while back). Again it's doubtful, but Rightstuf.com occasionally lists box only.

www.Animeondvd.com

They give away empty boxsets in weekly contests. See if their putting the one you want up for the giveaway.

Chances are that if your looking for the boxset for a recent item, they'll be giving it away. So good luck! Wink

Also, check Ebay. from time to time people will sell just the box.

ADV has some empty boxes for sale on their website. Maybe they'll have some Azumanga boxes for sale when they've finished releasing the series.

Chance of winning? Very very very slim. I enter all of them and never won.

The empty box contests average about 100-200 entries per box. Regular DVD contests are considerably more though. The Blue Gender box combo had something like 6000 entries.
