Has anyone seen Cross? Does it continue to self-parody itself and other card-battle games similar to how the first season did, or was that a major change due to the English dub?

I enjoyed quite a bit the self-parody of the first season, but it looks like they're going all super-serious or something with the franchise since I guess it got more popular?

The original Japanese version was actually more serious in nature and wasn't a parody of itself. There was comedy, provided, but it didn't make fun of itself.

Cross actually takes itself more seriously compared to its predecessors.

I thought this series ended years ago? I didn't think this series was that popular to begin with either. Though the English was alright, the series in it self didn't really interest me.

Yeah, I thought the card games died in Japan as well, I suppose not.

Seriously?

The dub was one of the many reasons I hated this series. Not to mention a majority of the fans I came across (on the internet) just came off to me as trolls trying to piss off YGO fans Confused

It's definitely a change. It was rewritten by Kevin Rubio of Troops fame. (Ah, Troops, one of the early www phenomena....)

But everybody was really just watching it for Mimi. Laughing
