Most of the negativite reviews tended to be mroe based on casual people's first exposure to loli. "Oh my god, little girls semi-naked, what the hell" Was fun to read those and remember what normal people think like.

Really, realy didn't like Neptunia...

I mean, the character designs weren't really THAT bad. Hell, I though it was a really nice touch with how the character portraits would very subtly breath/move while they were tallking.

The gameplay was just really bad in my opinion. The combat was really repetitve. The whole combo/summon system was really unweildly and made no sense. You couldn't heal your characters directly. The dungeon crawling was really...bllaaaagh.

I gave up after a few hours, but I heard things got worst later on. Apparently if you want to travel to different game worlds you had to battle through a bunch of dungeons first for them to "get close to one another"....or something.

The thing that really disappointed me was the humor, because that's kind of why I considered it in the first place. But it ended feeling way to shallow in the parody department, with the "fun-poking" being waaaaayy to obvious, and too non-sequiter ("Don't be mad at me if I start picking up rings off the floor!"...Um...huh? Yes I know that's a Sonic reference, but why the hell would she be saying that now?)

If I want a game from NISA with lots of cute girls, I think I'll just stick with the Atelier games.

I heard more complaints about the battle system. It was full of rough spots, especially the healing.

Street Fighter x Tekken: Vita has Blanka? Now that's more like it! Very Happy

FFXIII-2: Personally, with everyone completely annoyed with the "ending" to this game, I don't think DLC could tide anyone over (even if they come up with DLC that could contain actual ending scenarios to properly conclude the story). It'll be nice to see and hear Sazh again. Strange the game needs DLC to open one of the two minigames in the casino house, but whatever gets us shelling out our cash, right Square Enix? Rolling Eyes

Persona 4 Arena: I can imagine this game is going to be obsessed over by the fighting fans who take Smash Bros. too seriously (which is just sad). I'm more interested in the port of P4.

Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2: I've already decided I'm not getting it. I think both titles take parody just a bit too far for me. And Todd, seriously that caption, ew. (l_l)

Hey Tod, I'd just like to let you know The Last Story has been confirmed for US release with publisher XSeed on the helm! Plus other stuff from that Nintendo Direct video like Capcom x Sega x Namco Bandai for 3DS.

believe me i know but hell most of them didn't fall into that category to much. I am also happy the newer game got a M rating to appease some the hardcore moralist out there lol. In all honesty I showed this game off to one of my normal or non main anime stream fan "Adult swim/toonami was his only exposure" and when that scene came up it didn't bother him to much.

On the subject at hand I a happy that x-seed is bringing over the last story to america. This gives me hope that wii will finally get some decent play time in aside from re-playing tales of sympoina, ssbm and ssbb

Next week has a lot more releases that I expected. I already have SSX waiting to get picked up (and currently enjoying the demo) then in the indie department Nyu Media is finally serving up Cherry Tree High Comedy Club (http://indiegames.com/2012/02/nyu_media_readies_cherry_tree_.html). I guess I should pick up Devil Survivor 2 for the long journey to Final Round on the 1st.

Things I'm not excited for is Capcom being Capcom and adding more needless things to their fighting games.

However, I am excited for Guilty Gear making it into PSN. Now my native tournament NorCal Install can finally retire all of our JP (or hacked) PS2's. Now I can finally practice the game on an arcade stick. I'm thinking of picking up Millia because it looks like she has a flashy looking mixup game and I'm all for that.

It's worth noting that Phantom Breaker has some additional problems.

First off, it's been delayed 'till March 20 (23rd in Canada.) Second, apparently the online play is region-locked and North American players won't be able to connect to Japanese players (I'm not aware of whether or not the English localization covers Europe.)

Here's hoping that the game was delayed to fix that.

(Also no, it's not really a good game (having played the Japanese demos,) but I plan on having some laughs with my pals.)

How is this different compared to any other fighting game? Fighting game fans are diehards, and that's a fact. This game is clearly trying to appeal to an additional audience (that being Persona fans who don't necessarily play fighting games,) but it's not like the BlazBlue games haven't already with two types of Simple control schemes.

Also, why bother bringing up Smash Bros.? I figure that Smash Bros. only gets a bad rap because of all the elements of randomness inherent to its gameplay (stage events, items, tripping in Brawl) and the problem that it's up to the fanbase to "balance" things, something that nobody will ever agree on unless the developers themselves put their foot down with a sanctioned ruleset.

P4U (well I guess it's P4A now, just like the anime...Oh dear) won't have that problem.

yep and some gamestops are telling people supposedly its coming out during the summer though gamestop is never reliable about that kinda info but you never know. though namco is doing a Q&A vid for tales so they might announce it there. though if innocence R really is being localized that will give me the reason to get a vita well second if you count persona four the golden Razz.

Actually, the "Fighting Game Community" is probably going to think it's a piece of trash without actually looking at it because it's not developed by capcom.

Interesting. It would be nice to play against Japanese players.

The full-game actually is a little better than the old demo on XBL...still not great though.

The "fighting game community" might enjoy the game since it's being developed by Arc System Works. They might not get past the fact that its Persona 4 characters, but the gameplay should be decently solid.

Fighting game diehards tend to ruin it for everyone else who just want to enjoy the game and not turn every single match into some "Who's better?" contest. Trust me, I've seen many cases of it.

Smash Bros. Brawl was the first thing that popped into my head. I recall it was a fun game once, but now the message boards and forums are packed full of idiot topics by diehards who take the game too seriously.
