This is nice. Smile It's a good thing that someone decided to a spin-off featuring Jagi, because he's the most underrated of the Hokuto brothers and his time in the anime was a tad brief.

Confused
I don't really like this guy's art style. He also did the Ryuken one-shot spinoff manga.

I now wish I would have voted in the Spinoff Enquette that they had a while back. Jagi has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, so I don't see how he could make it as the protagonist of a story.

I would have voted for Shu. A heroic blind guy that kicks people's heads off. What's not to love with Shu Question

mrsatan: Yeah. Now they're officially milking the series when they use him as a character, since his moves suck. It'd be interesting to see Toki get a spin-off, though, but I imagine people would think it'd be too similar to Jebus. Laughing

Granted, Jagi's a poor fighter...and a jerkbag...and a coward...but he has this sort of charisma to him, even though he spoiler[is the one responsible for pursuading Shin to go down the path of evil in the first place]. But still, you have to admit that he managed to be menacing in his initial appearances ("Say my name!").

At any rate, it will be interesting to see an "anti-hero" take on Hokuto no Ken (as in from the perspective of a quasi-elite mook). He may be wimpier than his kid brother, but he's still stronger than your average mohawked punk. Razz

As for Toki, I do see the comparison to Jesus. They practically look alike! Laughing

Jagi is cool...but anti-hero? I guess...He died like a chump in the end, it wasn't very glorious.

True. He did get to inform Ken about Toki and Raoh still being alive, though.

IMHO, the "anti-hero" thing has already been done pretty well with Raoh's Ten no Haoh.

I'd like to see a real Ryuken manga done sometime, but I think Tetsuo Hara himself needs to do that one after Fist of the Blue Sky finishes.

They already gave him one, "The Silvery Saint".

Not really a Jagi fan but it could technically work, I mean its not like it could be any near similar to Ken's or Raoh's stories.

If they'll really go that far, then they'll have to cover the events that occured after the 1st TV series and before the 2nd. Razz

I like Jagi (as a villain); I usually use him when I play the PS2 game.

But I don't know what a Jagi series could be besides Jagi ransacking villages, randomly murdering people, stealing women to sell, and telling people to say his name. That could be played for dark humor I guess, but would probably get boring fast.

Despite my doubts, I'll be buying the tankoban whenever it comes out.
