You forgot Super Pig... It's the only anime Saban dubbed never aired in North America expect for Mexico.
Are you're forgetting Super Pig, and know reasons why it never aired in America? |

Mhh, because Saban in retarded. I mean, why else would you secure the right$ of a 51 episode series, then fork some more cash to translate/dub it to english just to shove it under the rug? Sounds to me as retarded as forgetting to breath. |

Candy Candy will not happen until one of the authors dies (maybe). You can actually buy the Remi Box set pretty cheap, but here is catch 22, you need to learn spanish >: )

Oh man oh man oh man, I am ABSOLUTELY picking this up when it comes out!!! This has got to be the best news I've heard all year, I loved SPC as a kid, the English dub was high-frikkin-larious! Finally seeing the subbed version will be a real treat, too!
On a side note, does it irk anyone else to hear people say "nostalgia-goggles"? Admittedly sometimes it's warranted, but it seems as though whenever oldies are discussed this line somehow inevitably gets towed, as though old shows can't possibly be good on their own merits from a contemporary perspective, or as if mawkish affection and sentimentality are the only explanations for older series to be liked. It seems to me all shows are going to be old shows someday, so I would think at least sometimes it would just be a difference in taste or opinion. Anyways! Discotek is certainly making moves that appeal to my wallet, I hope they keep bringing on the old-school. I echo the sentiments on Littl' Bits, The Adventures of the Little Koala, Maple Town, Noozles, Maya the Bee, etc. etc. etc. |

So I see all these classic titles being mentioned and I have to ask, am I the only one that wants to see the Noozles, aka Fushigi na Koala Blinky, released on DVD someday? I loved that show when I was a kid.

Other companies besides Discotek should take note of this simple truth, an anime shown in broadcast TV on daytime slots will outsell those shown on webcast or cable by a hundred fold (at least).

Assuming other companies don't already know that. What can those companies do about it? Anime distributors don't tell broadcasters what to air. |

Give more shelf space to box sets that are known by the broad public. It might not be as cool as selling i.e. Madoka Magica, but it will get bigger profits. As it stands today these companies are placing the horses behind the cart, i.e. If an anime is a hit OVERSEAS, then they pay huge chunks of money to get distribution rights to sell DVDs/blu-rays to consumers this side of the pond that have never heard about said TV series. If distributors start to mostly buy series that have been shown in broadcast (or at the very least, basic cable) Japanese companies will take note and try to push their productions into said outlets, i.e. at present time they have no motivation to push ANIMAX into USA basic cable or maybe even broadcast a night segment in big cities like LA, NY, etc. Last edited by mangamuscle on Fri Mar 16, 2012 11:22 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Distributors don't give shelf space either. They pay for it and even then it is still up to the retailer if an anime gets that shelf space.
Other than OVAs and movies, all anime has at sometime appeared on Japanese TV. There's nothing for the Japanese to note or push a distributor into a particular outlet over. |

Doubt that would happen. Though it'll definitely do well with both version on one release. Though wether it'll be a redub by a professional studio or they use the old, edited but still funny Saban dub is the $64 dollar question. |
