Duo fripSide Performs 2nd Schwarzes Marken Game's Theme

Duo also performed anime's opening theme song

The official website for the television anime of the Muv-Luv Alternative spinoff novel Schwarzes Marken announced on Wednesday that the duo fripSide will perform the theme song "white relation" for Schwarzes Marken Junkyōsha-tachi (Martyrs, tentative title), the upcoming second PC game adaptation of the novels.

The duo also performed the "white forces" song as the opening theme song of the anime.

Hiroki Uchida's original novels focus on the 666th TSF Squadron in 1983, 18 years before the events of the earlier serialized novel Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. Both novels are spinoffs of Age's 2006 visual novel software Muv-Luv Alternative.

Age released the first Schwarzes Marken PC game, Schwarzes Marken Kōketsu no Monshō (Crest of Red Blood), on November 27. Schwarzes Marken Junkyōsha-tachi was originally slated for a winter 2015 release. It is now slated for release sometime this year.

The 12-episode Schwarzes Marken television anime series premiered on January 10. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

Tetsuya Watanabe (Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry, Zone of the Enders, Rumbling Hearts) directed the series at Ixtl and LIDEN FILMS. Tatsuto Higuchi (CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon, Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman) handled the series composition, Shuichi Hara (Alice in the Country of Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World) adapted CARNELIAN's original character designs, Satoshi Motoyama served as sound director, Evan Call was the music producer, and Elements Garden was in charge of the music. SANZIGEN handed the show's 3DCGI.

Uchida wrote the novel's scenario, and CARNELIAN designed the characters and provided illustrations. Age's Hirohiko Yoshida is credited as the original creator. The novel ran for 41 chapters from 2011 to 2014 and was compiled into seven volumes. The novel was succeeded by the Schwarzes Marken Requiem light novel series by the same author and artist.
