Ryu-Kon is Back with a New Name and Look
Tatsu-Con 2016 comes to Buffalo this Summer!
Buffalo, NY, May 29, 2016: Officials at The Ryu-Kon Group, LLC announce that the annual Ryu-Kon Anime & Gaming Convention has gone through some exciting changes. Due to growth and expansion, the annual Ryu-Kon Convention will now be called Tatsu-Con and will be taking place on July 29, 30 and 31st at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin Street in Buffalo, NY. What does this mean for this fun and creative event? “Tatsu-Con will have the same activities as we had with Ryu-Kon but with even more variety for adults.” states the CEO, Bev Sotile. Some examples would be the new Escape Room: Zombie Outbreak, which is Tatsu-Con's take on this ever growing and popular trend that is sweeping the nation. Players will work as a team and solve puzzles to figure out the code allowing them to escape the room before celebrity guest zombies reach the room and eat them. There will also be a variety of creative workshops, free ballroom dance lessons, as well as more 18+ events, included free with your paid admission. There will still continue to be a full weekend of fun activities for younger guests as well. This year's theme is villains. So expect additional villain themed activities and evil plottings to take over the world throughout the weekend. . There will be an extensive variety of vendors and artists to meet you shopping needs as well as free anime screenings, cosplay, the Ghibli Village Manga Library, table gaming, panels, workshops, video gaming, the Mega Game Room with giant life sized versions of games, the Ryuko's Maid Cafe and live action gaming, including the newly expanded Minecraft Fantasy Room, a villains themed scavenger hunt and much more.
The special guest list for Tatsu-Con 2016 is impressive! Voice Actors, Austin Tindle and Ben Diskin will be interacting with attendees, providing autographs as well as hosting exciting and informative panels. Authors Megan J Parker Squiers and Nathan Squiers will be signing their newest books. Don't miss your chance to meet the authors of these novels before they become a movie. There will be a full weekend of musical guests, including Jpop stars from Tokyo, Japan, REAKT, and Nollipop, The Long Losts, Ookla the Mok and Mike Staley. DJ RU will be heading up the Glow in the Dark Rave on Friday night and the dance professionals from Ballroom and Beyond will be hosting the free Ballroom Dance Workshop and Formal Ball on Saturday. Meet Hello Kitty and even join in on a Hello Kitty Character Lunch in the Hello Kitty Playzone. Fur Reality will be hosting several furry themed workshops and special guest, Camp Anime, will be hosting several exciting new events including Tatsu-Con the Musical and you can star in it! Plus, Nerd Circus and cosplay guest, Lolli Tilley join the special guest line up. Of course, Nameless! Comedy will be back to make everyone laugh.
