Detective Conan, Crayon Shin-chan films also rank in top 10

The live-action film of Ayuko Hatta's shōjo manga Wolf Girl & Black Prince (Ōkami Shōjo to Kuro Ōji) opened on 285 screens in Japan on Saturday and sold 192,506 tickets over the weekend for a total of 233,626,300 yen (US$2,102,515). It ranked #2 in the Japanese box office after Disney's Zootopia.

The film is expected to earn 2 billion yen at the box office by the end of its theatrical run. Its opening weekend's box office takings were about 89% of the box office takings of last fall's Heroine Shikkaku, another live-action film based on a shojo manga and distributed by Warner Brothers. Heroine Shikkaku went on to earn 2.43 billion yen (about US$21.8 million).

Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare dropped from #4 to #6 on the ranking in its seventh weekend, and Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Bakusui! Yumemi World Dai Totsugeki dropped from #8 to #9 in its seventh weekend.
