New Game! TV Anime's Promo Previews Opening Theme, Reveals July 4 Premiere

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Anime based on Shōtarō Tokunō's manga centers on girl joining game development company

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Shōtarō Tokunō's New Game! manga began streaming the show's second promotional video on Monday. The video reveals the anime's July 4 premiere on AT-X, and previews the "Sakura Skip" opening theme song by the fourfolium group comprised of the anime's voice actresses.

The site is also streaming 15- and 30-second commercials for the anime, which also feature the opening theme song.

The anime will also air on Tokyo MX, MBS, and TV Aichi on July 5, and BS11 on July 6.

The anime's cast members include:

Yoshiyuki Fujiwara (Plastic Memories, GJ Club) is directing the series at Doga Kobo (Luck & Logic, Himouto! Umaruchan). Ryohei Takeshita (To Love Ru: Darkness, Maken-Ki! Battling Venus 2 episode director) is serving as assistant director. Fumihiko Shimo (Infinite Stratos, Kokoro Connect) is in charge of series composition, and Ai Kikuchi (Engaged to the Unidentified, Rainbow - Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin) is designing the characters. Hajime Hyakkoku (GJ Club, K-ON!) is composing the music.

Aside from the opening theme, the fourfolium musical unit – comprised of Takada, Yamaguchi, Toda, and Takeo – will also perform the ending theme song "Now Loading!!!!". The single CDs for the opening and ending songs are both slated for a July 27 release. The staff of the anime decided the "fourfolium" unit's name based on over 2,000 fan submissions.

In the workplace manga, the main character Aoba Suzukaze graduates from high school and joins a game company. The person who made the game that Aoba loved as a grade-schooler just happens to be Aoba's senior at the company. The story follows girls who work and aspire at the Eaglejump company.

Tokunō launched the manga in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Charat magazine in 2013, and Houbunsha published the third volume on January 27.
