The official website for the new Kuroko's Basketball anime film will adapt the Kuroko no Basuke Extra Game manga revealed visuals on Monday for the upcoming film. The visuals feature Kuroko, Akashi, Midorima, and Murasakibara wearing the uniforms of Vorpal Swords. The site also revealed that the film will open in spring 2017.

The upcoming film will be a sequel to the television anime series, and it will feature a showdown between a team made up of the five members of the Generation of Miracles plus Kuroko and Kagami, and an American team.

The official website of the Kuroko's Basketball film trilogy project also revealed last Saturday that the band OLDCODEX will perform the opening theme song for all three films. The new song is titled "The Experience." The film trilogy's staff had previously only announced that the band would perform the theme song for the first compilation film.

In conjunction with the announcement, the site revealed three new visuals, with the backgrounds painted by OLDCODEX member and painter YORKE. The visuals portray Kuroko, Kagami, and Aomine.

In addition, the film will offer four different coasters featuring four characters while the first compilation film is screening. The coasters will feature the characters Kuroko, Kagami, Aomine, and the Teikō Junior High team.

The first compilation film, titled Kuroko no Basuke Winter Cup Sōshū-hen: Kage to Hikari (Winter Cup Compilation ~Shadow and Light~), will screen in Japan from September 3-16. The second compilation film is titled Winter Cup Sōshū-hen ~Namida no Saki e~ (Winter Cup Compilation ~Beyond the Tears~), and it will screen in Japan from October 8-21. The third film is titled Winter Cup Sōshū-hen ~Tobira no Mukō~ (Winter Cup Compilation ~Crossing the Door~), and it will screen in Japan from December 3-16. The site revealed the visuals for the second and third films earlier this month.

Tadatoshi Fujimaki launched the original Kuroko no Basuke manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2008, and he ended the series in September 2014. Shueisha published the 30th and final compiled volume of the manga in Japan in December 2014. Shueisha published the second and final volume of the Kuroko no Basuke Extra Game sequel manga on May 2.

The original manga inspired three television anime series, in addition to the upcoming anime films. Viz Media announced last October that it will begin releasing the original manga in 2-in-1 omnibus editions in North America starting on August 2.
