Super Dimension Fortress Macross Begins English-Subtitled Streaming on Amazon

Amazon's video streaming service began streaming all 36 episodes of the original The Super Dimension Fortress Macross anime with English subtitles this week. The episodes are free for Amazon Prime members and can also be purchased for US$0.99 each.
Lionsgate Home Entertainment announced plans to release the Robotech The Classic Collection - Volume 1 DVD in 2014 exclusively through Amazon. The set includes the first 18 episodes of Super Dimension Fortress Macross along with the corresponding episodes of the American series Robotech, an amalgam of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Genesis Climber Mospeada, and The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross television anime series. AnimEigo and ADV Films also previously released the original series on DVD in North America.
Amazon also recently added all three seasons of Robotech and the Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles film for Amazon Prime members or for purchase. Both the digitally remastered version and the original broadcast version of the television show are available.
