Persona 5 Game's New 'Short Movie' Shows Protagonist at Public Bath

Long soak helps protagonist increase stats in RPG shipping in Japan on September 15

Atlus' official YouTube channel began streaming a new "short movie" video on Saturday for the upcoming Persona 5 game, featuring the protagonist at a public bath.

In the video, the protagonist is in the public bath and thinking that maybe it's because there are few customers today, but the water is lukewarm. He then thinks that because of this he can take his time and soak in the water for a while. Players are then presented with a choice to have a long soak or to get out. The protagonist chooses to have a long soak, and notices that his body is gradually getting warmer. The scene then cuts with him on the floor in the bath's changing area, and Morgana muses that he must've gotten dizzy in the bath, but admires his courage to take a leisurely bath. The protagonist then receives another point to invest in one of five different stats. Morgana then says it really wants to go home but wonders if the protagonist can move yet.

Previous "short movie" videos have shown the protagonist bonding with Ryuji while watching sports, playing video games and making infiltration tools on his own, bonding with Futaba at a movie theater, learning how to work at a coffee shop, and visiting a maid cafe..

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing game series will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. The game's Western release will have English audio only.

Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.

The game features animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- television anime special will air on September 3. The special will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.

Hisato Murasaki will launch the Persona 5 manga on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app on September 15, and then on the Ura Sunday website on September 22.
