Prince of Tennis' Takeshi Konomi Publishes 1-Shot in Shonen Jump on December 12

The first 2017 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Monday that Takeshi Konomi (The Prince of Tennis) will publish a one-shot manga in the magazine's combined second and third issue, which will ship on December 12. The title of the one-shot is "Zutsuke!! Yokohama Ōka Kōkō XXxX-bu" (Head-Butt!! Yokohama Ōka High School XXxX Club). The manga will have 47 pages and will include a color page. Weekly Shonen Jump's first issue also published a preview image for the manga (pictured below) on Monday.

Konomi serialized The Prince of Tennis manga's original run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1999 to 2008. The manga inspired a 2001-2005 television anime, two anime feature films and a theatrical short, various video anime projects, a live-action film, a live-action television series in China, and a popular stage musical series.

Konomi then launched The Prince of Tennis II manga series in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine in 2009. This ongoing sequel manga spawned its own 2012 television anime series. The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs. Genius 10 series then ran for five volumes from October 2014 to June 2015.

The franchise announced a new anime film project in October, which depict previously untold stories in the three months between the stories of the first Prince of Tennis manga and the Shin Tennis no Ōji-sama (The New Prince of Tennis or The Prince of Tennis II) manga.
