Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Manga's Final Volume Gets Special Edition

posted on by Kevin Yuan

This year's eighth issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Miki Yoshikawa's Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga's 28th compiled book volume will be the final volume, which is scheduled to ship on April 17. The manga will end its run in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in five chapters.

The magazine is also revealing that the manga's 28th volume will receive a special edition that includes two one-shot manga stories previously published in Kodansha's Magazine Special magazine, concept art, and an interview with Yoshikawa. An artbook featuring Yoshikawa's works will release on the same day and will include over 100 illustrations from Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches and Yoshikawa's Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Yankee-kun and Megane-chan) manga, more than 15 new illustrations, and a double-sided poster.

Yoshikawa launched the Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2012, and Kodansha published the manga's 26th volume (pictured at right) on December 16. Kodansha will publish the manga's 27th volume on February 17. Crunchyroll is releasing manga chapters online overseas as they are published in Japan, and Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in print.

The manga inspired a live-action television series that premiered in 2013. A 12-episode television anime adaptation premiered in April 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The manga has also inspired two OVAs bundled with the 15th and 17th volumes of the manga in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
