Musume no Iede Manga by Wandering Son's Shimura Ends in February

The February issue of Shueisha's Miracle Jump magazine revealed on Tuesday that Takako Shimura will end her Musume no Iede manga in the magazine's March issue in February.

The manga is an omnibus of stories of various girls that have run away from home. The first chapter of the manga revolves around a girl who ran away from her mother's home after learning that her mother is remarrying. She finds refuge at her father's home.

The manga is a sequel to Shimura's 2012 one-shot manga "Musume no Iede," which appeared in a special edition of Shueisha's Super Jump magazine in 2012. Shimura launched the manga in Shueisha's Jump X in March 2014 until October of that year, when the magazine ceased publication. It then moved to Miracle Jump in December of that year. Shueisha published the manga's fifth compiled book volume last September.

Shimura ended her Wandering Son (Hōrō Musuko) and her yuri manga Aoi Hana (Sweet Blue Flowers) manga in 2013. Fantagraphics licensed Wandering Son, and is releasing it in North America. It released the manga's eighth volume in June 2015.

Digital Manga, Inc. previously licensed the Sweet Blue Flowers manga and released the first volume digitally in 2014. The online manga service JManga also began releasing Sweet Blue Flowers before ending service in 2013. Viz Media licensed the manga, and plans to release it in 2-in-1 omnibus volumes with a new translation.

Wandering Son inspired an 11-episode television anime series from AIC that aired on Fuji-TV's late night Noitamina programming block in 2011. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. Sweet Blue Flowers also inspired an 11-episode anime series that Crunchyroll streamed as it aired in Japan. Right Stuf licensed the series in 2012 and released it on DVD.
