Dark Horse Licenses Hatsune Miku: Future Delivery Manga

Manga by writer, artist of Overlord manga slated for October 4

Dark Horse Comics announced on Wednesday that it has licensed Satoshi Ōshio and Hugin Miyama's Hatsune Miku: Future Delivery - Little Asimov and the Green Thing Left Behind manga. The company will release the first volume of the two-volume manga on October 4.

Dark Horse describes the manga:

Writer Satoshi Ōshio and artist Hugin Miyama tell a tale set in the distant future, where Asumi—a girl who has no clue to her memories but a drawing of a green-haired, ponytailed person—finds her only friend in Asimov, a battered old delivery robot. The strange companions travel the stars together in search of the mysterious “Miku,” only to learn the legendary idol has taken different forms on many different worlds!

Ōshio and Miyama launched the manga in Kadokawa's Comptiq magazine in 2013, and ended it in 2014. Kadokawa released two compiled book volumes for the manga. In December 2013, the manga inspired a Hatsune Miku Vocaloid music video by marasy (marashii), with lyrics by Ōshio and art by Miyama.

Ōshio and Miyama later collaborated again on the manga adaptation of Kugane Maruyama's Overlord novel series. Yen Press is publishing the manga, and it released the third compiled volume in December.

Dark Horse Comics released KEI's Hatsune Miku: Unofficial Hatsune Mix in 2014, as well as Ontama's Hatsune Miku: Mikubon four-panel manga in October. The company has also licensed Hiro Tamura's Hatsune Miku: Rin-Chan Now! manga for release this year.
