The official website of the Dospara PC parts store revealed on Friday that the "Life in an Alternate World With Rem in VR" smartphone app now has testing booths in Dospara stores and 22 stores throughout Japan. The official website for the app also lists that a new version of the app featuring Emilia will arrive on June 6 for iOS and Android. The Emilia version will feature the same two types of installments as the Rem version.

The original app features the character Rem from the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- light novels and anime. The app has two different installments, with one allowing players to sleep on Rem's lap and the second letting players sleep beside her. Both installments include a "figure appreciation" mode in which players can view Rem in three different scenes from any angle they please.

Gugenka released both installments of the app in Japan for iOS and Android on Friday. The app is priced at 960 yen (US$8.70) and requires either iOS 9.0 or Android 4.4 and later.

The Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime aired from April to September 2016 for a total of 25 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.

The anime was based on Tappei Nagatsuki and Shinichirou Otsuka's light novel series, which has over one million copies in print. Yen Press has licensed the novels and spin-off manga.
