Iwaihime: Matsuri Game's Character Videos Introduce Kanae, Lilia, Mayu

PS4, Vita port of 2016 PC horror game slated for September 7

The official website for Iwaihime: Matsuri, Nippon Ichi Software's PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita port of DMMGames and Ryukishi07's Iwaihime PC horror game, began streaming three more character introduction videos this week. The videos highlight Kanae Minobe (Yuka Ōtsubo), Lilia Nunokawa (Sarah Emi Bridcutt), and Mayu Hinagata (Ryouko Tanaka).

The game will ship in Japan on September 7, delayed from its original July 20 release date. Nippon Ichi Software delayed the game in order to conform to CERO's examination standards for porting the game from the PC to PS4 and PS Vita.

The port contains a new prologue that will center on protagonist Suzumu Susuhara, and will introduce the game's characters and key concepts.

DMM Games released the original game for the PC in January 2016.

The cast is as follows:

Makoto Furukawa as Suzumu Susuhara
Chinatsu Akasaki as Toe Kurokami
Mariko Honda as Tsubakiko Harumiya
Yuka Ōtsubo as Kanae Minobe
Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Lilia Nunokawa
Ryouko Tanaka as Mayu Hinagata
Yūki Tai as Natsuya Atsuta

Freelance illustrator Kina Kazuharu provided the character art for the "Japanese style romance novel game," and mocha provided the background art.

In the story, for generations the men of the Susuhara family have, upon reaching a certain age, left home and gone their own way, living alone with no one to depend on until they are acknowledged. The protagonist is a high school student who has left home and is comfortable at his new school. But there's a strange girl named Toe Kurokami. She carries what appears to be Japanese doll, and he's sure its hair grows and it whispers things. Meeting her might be his destiny.

Tomo Tanaka also serialized a manga adaptation of the game in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine. The manga launched in September 2015, and ended in September 2016. Square Enix published two compiled book volumes for the manga. Tanaka drew the manga, while Ryukishi07 wrote the manga's scripts. Kina Kazuhara was credited with the original character designs, and DMM.com handled the editorial supervision.
