One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition Launches for Switch on September 29

posted on by Karen Ressler

Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced on Thursday that One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition will launch digitally for Nintendo Switch on September 29. As previously announced, the game will launch digitally for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam on August 25.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe will also release the game digitally for PS4 and PC on August 25, and physically and digitally for Switch in September.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition will launch in Japan on August 24. The game is an upgraded port of One Piece: Unlimited World Red, which Bandai Namco Entertainment released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in November 2013, and on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U in June 2014. The original game shipped on all four platforms in June 2014 in Europe and in July 2014 in North America.

The game allows for up to four players to play together, and players can explore the world of One Piece with their friends. Players can embark on different quests and battle enemies with many of the manga and anime's familiar characters. The game also allows players to fish, catch bugs, hunt for treasure, and more to develop and train their characters. The game features the original character Red (voiced by Masachika Ichimura), the game's nemesis who aims to be the Pirate King. Standing in his way are the Straw Hat Pirates and a new raccoon character named Pat (TARAKO).

Ganbarion developed the "multi action-adventure" title. The game features original characters designed by series' creator Eiichiro Oda, such as Red, Pat, and Yadoya (Rumi Hiiragi).
