Kaito Ishikawa, Yuichiro Umehara, Sōma Saitō, Ryōhei Kimura star in series about idiosyncratic princes

NHN PlayArt Corp. opened a website on Saturday to announce that its Dame×Prince (aka "DamePri") smartphone app is getting a television anime adaptation in January 2018 titled Dame×Prince Anime Caravan. The anime will air on the Tokyo MX and BS Fuji channels.

The anime stars:

Kaito Ishikawa as Narek, the first prince of Mildonia. He is a narcissistic idiot.

Yuichiro Umehara as Vino, a high-ranking noble of Mildonia. He is a womanizer.

Sōma Saitō as Ruze, the crown prince of Serenfaren. He is the country's idol who loves everyone.

Ryōhei Kimura as Mare, the second prince of Serenfaren. He is a shut-in otaku who hates everyone.

Ani, the princess of Inako. She is pragmatic and strong thanks to her father's policy that royalty must put in the most work. (voice actress not yet announced)

Other cast members include:

  • Tomoaki Maeno as Teo, a knight of Inako who is also a farmer. He is the Ani's childhood friend.
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Riot, a knight of Mildonia. He is chivalrous and has a deep sense of honor.
  • Eiji Takemoto as Chrom, the prime minister of Serenafaren. He is an intellectual and is deeply religious.
  • Ayaka Saitō as Gurimaru, a guardian beast of Inako. Its true form is a griffon, and it uses love as its energy, but when it is deficient on its energy it appears as a round cat-like animal.

Makoto Hoshino (Utano☆Princesama Revolutions) is directing the anime at Studio Flad and AX Creative. Arikuidō is credited with the original character designs, and Ruriko Watanabe (The Future Diary sub-character design) is adapting those designs for animation. StoryWorks (VitaminX Addiction) is credited with the scenario supervision, and Naruo Kobayashi (Utano☆Princesama Legend Star, Utano☆Princesama Revolutions script) is overseeing the series scripts.

The band BREAKERZ will perform the show's theme song.

NHN PlayArt Corp. launched the smartphone game in March 2016. In the game, players play as Ani, a princess of the small but peaceful country of Inako. Ani visits the religious and powerful country of Serenfaren to attend a peace treaty signing ceremony between Serenfaren and the military country of Mildonia. The ceremony was supposed to end without incident, but the princes of both countries are all idiosyncratic and hard to deal with.

The anime will tell an original story different from the smartphone game, and will be episodic.
