Owarimonogatari Season 2 Anime Special's Trailer Previews ClariS' Theme Song

The official website for Owarimonogatari Season 2, the two-day anime special based on the third novel in NisiOisin's Owarimonogatari novel series, began streaming a trailer for the anime on Thursday. The video previews the anime's ending theme song "SHIORI" by ClariS. (Note: The video at the link above is region-locked to Japan.)
The special will run for two hours on both August 12 and August 13, and will have a total of seven episodes. Aniplex of America will stream the anime on Crunchyroll and Anime Strike, but will premiere the anime first on Crunchyroll.
The main cast and staff are returning from the Owarimonogatari television series. The official website for the Monogatari Series announced the adaptation in March.
The anime adapts the third Owarimonogatari novel, which covers the "Mayoi Hell," "Hitagi Rendezvous," and "Ōgi Dark" arcs. The first Owarimonogatari anime, covering the first two novels in the series, premiered in October 2015. Crunchyroll and Daisuki both streamed the series as it aired.
The three-volume Owarimonogatari novel is part of the "final season" of the Monogatari Series. The first volume shipped with the stories "Ōgi Formula," "Sodachi Riddle," and "Sodachi Lost" in October 2013. The second volume shipped in January 2014 with the story "Shinobu Mail." The third volume shipped in April 2014.
The novel series' "final season" ended with Zoku Owarimonogatari in September 2015, but it features a teaser for "Monogatari Series, Next Season Tsugimonogatari." Four "Off Season" novels — Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari — shipped in October 2015, January 2016, July 2016, and January 12, respectively.
Vertical published the earlier Kizumonogatari novel in December 2015, and began publishing the original Mongatari Series novels beginning in December 2016 with the Bakemonogatari novels.
Aniplex of America is releasing the anime adaptations of the Monogatari Series in North America.
