The 25th Ward: The Silver Case Sequel Game Heads West on PS4, PC

Suda51's visual novel gets N. American, European release

NIS America announced on Thursday that it will release the HD remake of The 25th Ward: The Silver Case in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. The game is slated for 2018, and it will be available digitally and in a physical limited edition.

The game is a sequel to Grasshopper Manufacture's The Silver Case. It launched episodically for mobile devices in Japan from 2005 to 2007. NIS America describes the story:

It is been five years since the events of 1999's “The Silver Case,” set in the new 25th Ward that arose in the bayside area of Kanto. In a room of the “Bayside Tower Land” apartment complex, a woman is found murdered under mysterious circumstances. This sets off a series of seemingly random events bridging across multiple protagonists including The Silver Case's Tokio Morishima. With all viewpoints assembled, a truly shocking pattern emerges…

Grasshopper Manufacture released a remastered version of The Silver Case on the Steam, Playism, GOG, and Humble Store platforms for PC last October. The company then released the game for Mac in November 2016. The HD remaster marked the first time the game had an English release. NIS America released the game on the PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe in April.

Gōichi Suda (also known as Suda51; Let It Die, Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer is Dead) directed and wrote the games. The original game featured elements of an adventure game, a puzzle game, and a visual novel.
