The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Amu Meguro's Honey So Sweet manga revealed on Thursday that the film will open in Japan on March 31, 2018.

Yūna Taira (seen below) will play Nao Kogure, while Shō Hirano of the Johnny's Jr. idol group Mr. KING will play Taiga Onise.

In addition, Ryūsei Yokohama (below) will play Ayumu Misaki.

The rest of the cast includes Kaho Mizutani (upper right in image below) as Kayo Yashiro, Gaku Sano (lower left) as Ikumi Gongawara, Nana Asakawa (lower right) as Miyabi Nishigaki, and singer-songwriter Yu Takahashi (not pictured) as Nao's uncle Sōsuke Kogure.

Kōji Shintoku and Junpei Yamaoka, the director and writer for the live-action Peach Girl film, will work together again on Honey So Sweet.

Viz Media's Shojo Beat licensed the manga and released the seventh volume on July 4. Shojo Beat describes Honey So Sweet (Simply titled Honey in Japan):

Little did Nao Kogure realize back in middle school that when she left an umbrella and a box of bandages in the rain for injured delinquent Taiga Onise that she would meet him again in high school. Nao wants nothing to do with the gruff and frightening Taiga, but he suddenly presents her with a huge bouquet of flowers and asks her to date him—with marriage in mind! Is Taiga really so scary, or is he a sweetheart in disguise?

Meguro began the series in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine in August 2012 and ended the series in November 2015. Shueisha published the eighth and final compiled volume in December 2015. The series was ranked as one of Japanese Bookstore Employees' top recommended comics for 2014.
