Manga Creator, Illustrator Hisashi Eguchi Designs High-End Shirts

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Manga creator and illustrator Hisashi Eguchi (Stop!! Hibari-kun!, The Kotobuki Goro Show) designed a second set of items, called Kotobuki Studio Border Shirts, for Niigata-based clothing brand G.F.G.S. The shirts come in sky blue and tangerine varieties, and they are available now through the company's website.

The knit shirts feature wide stripes and have the Kotobuki Studio tag on the left sleeve. People who order the shirts will receive a postcard signed by Eguchi.

The shirts cost 17,280 yen (about US$150) each, and the pre-order period will close on November 15.

Eguchi recently shared his thoughts about Japanese society and his art with the French television program toco toco. "It's really my frustrations of not being born as a girl that drives my drawings," he says with a chuckle. "But women are just so attractive, I'll never be able to catch up."
