The play will run from November 4-12 at Shinjuku FACE. Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi (Emukichi-Beat) is again directing the musical, and Naohiro Ise is returning to write the script. CLIE is again producing the play.

The first musical ran in Tokyo in June 2016. A DVD of the performance shipped in October 2016 in Japan.

Artist Yukihiro (Uta no Prince-sama) and novelist Takadono (Hakushakuke Goyōtashi) launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero Sum magazine in 2009. Ichijinsha published the 14th volume on July 25. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, and published the 12th volume in North America on April 25.

The story revolves around William, an aristocratic family's progeny with rare intellect. One day, his uncle lost his possessions after his business failed. Fearing that his family's name has been tarnished, William returns home and searches with his family's butler for anything that can be converted into cash. A search of the premises yields an underground room left by an ancestor. In the room is a magical seal, and William unintentionally summons a devil. The summoned devil tells William his name is Dantalion, and reveals that William is the "Elector" who can choose the next acting ruler of Hell.

Chiaki Kon (Junjō Romantica, When They Cry - Higurashi, La storia della Arcana Famiglia) directed a 12-episode television anime adaptation, which premiered in July 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD and Blu-ray.
