Shin Megami Tensei V Switch Game's Teaser Trailer Streamed

Atlus began streaming a teaser trailer on Monday for its Shin Megami Tensei V game for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo revealed in January that Atlus was developing a game for the Nintendo Switch. The game is part of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise's 25th anniversary project, and it will use Unreal Engine 4. Atlus USA made the following statement in January regarding a Western release of the Switch title:

Atlus USA currently has no information about a localization for this title, but wanted to present the details from the Japanese reveal of this title to the western market. A formal announcement will be made later for this title if a localization gets confirmed.

The 25th anniversary project also includes Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, the Nintendo 3DS remake of its Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Nintendo DS game, which will ship in Japan on Thursday. Atlus USA will release the game in North America in early 2018. Atlus released the related "fake" Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue game as a free download for PC last Monday.

The 25th anniversary logo references the series' first four main games that debuted in 1992, 1994, 2003, and 2013, respectively.

Sega and Atlus' D×2 Shin Megami Tensei Revelation smartphone game will also launch this year. Sega is developing the game for iOS and Android based on Atlus' franchise.

The Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse (Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final) Nintendo 3DS game shipped in Japan in February 2016. Atlus released the game in the Americas in September 2016, followed by Europe and Australia in December.

Atlus released Persona 5 — the latest installment in the spinoff series of its Shin Megami Tensei RPGs — in Japan in September 2016. The game shipped in the West in April.
