Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wins Game of the Year at 35th Golden Joystick Awards

Pokémon Sun/Moon, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy also win awards

The 35th Golden Joystick Awards ceremony in London on Friday awarded Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game the "Ultimate Game of the Year" award. The game also won the Critics Choice award, the Nintendo Game of the Year award, and the Best Audio award.

The game launched on both Nintendo Switch and Wii U on March 3 along with the launch of the Nintendo Switch.

Square Enix's Final Fantasy franchise won the Hall of Fame award. Additionally, CAPCOM's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard game won the Best VR award, and Nintendo and GAME FREAK's Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games won the Handheld/Mobile Game of the Year award.

OMEN by HP presented the awards. Since its inception in 1983, the Golden Joystick Awards selects its winners by votes cast by the public.
