The anime will premiere on Friday on AT-X at 24:25 (effectively 12:45 a.m. on Saturday). Hobby Japan's YouTube channel will also stream the series starting on January 29. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime, and will stream the series "on select digital outlets" starting this month, and the company plans to release the series on home video.

The anime stars:

The project is connected to Hobby Japan's Seven Mortal Sins (sin Nanatsu no Taizai) multimedia franchise.

In the show's story, the "Seven Mortal Sins," demons from hell, have pressed forward and have started to spread their plague. Heaven is in chaos, and the angels of the "Seven Heavenly Virtues" are sent to Earth to search for a candidate to become the "true messiah."

Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Heybot!) is directing the anime at the studio Bridge. Niθ is credited with the original character designs, and Masanori Iizuka (animation director for Dog Days, Fairy Tail) is the character designer, prop designer, and chief animation director.

The 12-episode Seven Mortal Sins anime premiered on April 14. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation streamed the series with an English dub.
